About the Student Visa
The Russian Student Visa is intended for foreign nationals admitted to full-time study at accredited Russian educational institutions, including universities, colleges and licensed language schools, as well as academic exchange programmes.
Processing Time
Standard processing takes approximately 7 working days. Please allow extra time before the start of the academic term.
Required Documents
Please bring the following documents in original when submitting your application:
- Valid passport with at least 2 blank pages and validity of at least 18 months beyond the visa expiry date.
- Completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
- One recent passport-size photograph meeting Russian visa photo requirements.
- A study invitation issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or an authorised educational invitation.
- HIV-test certificate (required for study visas).
- Consular fee and visa service fee (payable at the centre).
Validity and Stay
- Issued for the duration of study, in line with the invitation.
- Multiple entry, with validity set by the Consulate.
- Students must register their place of stay in Russia after arrival.
