About the Transit Visa
The Russian Transit Visa is issued to travellers whose journey passes through the territory of the Russian Federation to reach a third destination country.
Processing Time
Standard processing takes approximately 7 working days. Transit visa applications require confirmed onward travel plans.
Required Documents
Please bring the following documents in original when submitting your application:
- Valid passport with at least 2 blank pages and validity of at least 6 months beyond the visa expiry date.
- Completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
- One recent passport-size photograph meeting Russian visa photo requirements.
- Tickets and confirmed bookings proving transit through Russian territory to a third country.
- A visa for the destination country (where required).
- Consular fee and visa service fee (payable at the centre).
Validity and Stay
- Issued for up to 10 days of transit through Russian territory.
- Validity is set to match the confirmed transit dates.
- The permitted duration of stay is printed on the visa itself — please check it before travel.

- Track your application online and collect your passport, or choose delivery.
Important Note
Transit by air with a confirmed ticket and no transfer within Russia may not require a visa in certain cases. Please verify your route with the Consulate before applying.
